Unfortunately all that happens at Altitude is not always joyful... This past Wednesday, August 24, 2016 the community of Telluride lost one of its most colorful and beloved individuals, "Gilder Bob Saunders". Bob was taken away from us while doing what he loved, soaring high above our San Juan Mountains. For some yet to be determined reason Bob, a veteran Glider Pilot, and his passenger lost their lives when the motor gilder Bob was piloting crashed into Prospect Basin high above Telluride. We, and the community of Telluride will miss you Bob... Telluride also had another tragic Loss when Longtime Telluride Local...

Telluride 2016 Mushroom Festival ended yesterday, after a successful harvest by scores of visitors to Telluride... The folks from Team BIOTA (Blame It On The Altitude) joined the "Shroomers" that come from all over the country to hunt for their favorite Mushrooms at Altitude's  between 8,000 feet and 11,000 feet. You can see from the picture below that Team BIOTA had a great harvest of our favorite Chanterelle Mushrooms :-) We are still enjoying the 9 pounds of Chanterelles we were able to find while roaming through the woods way above Telluride. Of Course we Blame our Good Fortune on the Altitude......
